In the heart of Denver on a spring day, a young man's life was tragically cut short, leaving a void in the community and a case that remains a puzzle for law enforcement. Kareem Bolds, a 21-year-old Black male, was in the company of another individual on May 3, 2003, when a stroll down the street escalated into a heated argument. The disagreement took a turn, prompting Bolds to flee for his safety.
Seeking refuge, Bolds ran into a restaurant located at 2255 Champa Street.
However, the pursuit was relentless. The person he had been arguing with chased him into the establishment. In a final, violent act, the suspect shot Bolds as he stood in the doorway of the business. The life of Kareem Bolds was ended by gun violence that day.
In the years following the death of Kareem Bolds, his case has remained unsolved. The Denver Police Department's Cold Case Unit continues to seek information that could lead to the identification and arrest of the person or persons responsible for his murder. Authorities have urged anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward. A reward of up to $2,000 has been offered for tips that could help bring a resolution to this long-standing case and provide answers to a grieving family and community.
