In the early hours of a spring morning in Denver, Colorado, the life of a dedicated public servant was tragically cut short. Donald 'Donnie' Ray Young, a 43-year-old Hispanic male and a decorated detective with the Denver Police Department, was working an off-duty security job at a private party in a rental hall on West Mississippi Street on May 8, 2005. Alongside his partner, Detective John H. Bishop, Young was ensuring the safety of the attendees as the event wound down.
