In the small community of Yuma, Colorado, the life of 16-year-old Jaden Rahm was cut tragically short on December 1, 2014. A sophomore at Yuma High School, Jaden was with three friends during their lunch break, sitting in a pickup truck just south of the school grounds on South Albany Street. Inside the vehicle was a shotgun, intended for hunting birds.
In a devastating turn of events, the firearm discharged from the back seat of the truck.
The shot struck Jaden, who was in the driver's seat, from behind. His friends, who were also in the vehicle, were unharmed but were left to witness the horrific and sudden end to their friend's life. The local authorities, including the Yuma County Sheriff's Office, were called to the scene. Their investigation into the shooting concluded that it was a tragic accident.
