On a late spring day in Colorado Springs, tragedy struck when 49-year-old Ernesto Hernandez, a male resident of the city, was killed. The incident, which unfolded on Friday, May 29, 2015, left the community searching for answers. Authorities were called to the 4100 block of Edwinstowe Avenue, a residential area near the scenic Garden of the Gods, where they discovered that Hernandez had been fatally shot. The El Paso County Coroner's Office later officially declared his death a homicide.
