In the early hours of a Monday morning, the parking lot of a motel on Kipling Street in Lakewood, Colorado, became a crime scene. There, police discovered the body of 32-year-old Guadalupe Julian De La Rosa, a male, who had been fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene on June 19, 2017.
Investigators believe an altercation took place in the motel parking lot, which ultimately led to the shooting. A short time after De La Rosa was found, a second man with gunshot wounds was located at a residence in Denver. Authorities believe this individual was also shot in the same motel parking lot and had been in a dispute with De La Rosa.
Despite the discovery of a second victim and the belief that a dispute occurred, no arrests have been announced in connection with the shooting. The Lakewood Police Department's investigation into the homicide is ongoing. They have encouraged anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
