In the quiet town of Golden, Colorado, the life of 44-year-old Kristian Macleod was tragically cut short in a violent encounter that unfolded on a Saturday afternoon. On April 13, 2019, deputies from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 800 block of Kilmer Street shortly after 4 p.m. following reports of shots fired. Upon their arrival, they discovered Macleod suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, but tragically, he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead later that day.
The investigation into the death of the male victim quickly led to two suspects. A day after the shooting, Laci Barclay, then 24, was taken into custody.
