In the summer of 2019, a tragic series of events unfolded in a quiet home in Aurora, Colorado, leading to the death of 35-year-old Amber Zotto, a Caucasian female. The alarm was first raised on July 2nd, when Amber's mother grew worried after being unable to contact her daughter for several days. This concerned call prompted Aurora police to perform a welfare check at the residence Amber shared with her husband, Keith Zotto, and their two children on East Milan Circle.
Upon their arrival, officers were met by the couple's children, who confirmed they had not seen their mother since June 29th. When contacted, Keith Zotto initially told investigators that he and Amber had an argument and that she had left the home, leaving behind what he claimed was a suicide note. However, as officers searched the property, a grim discovery was made in the garage. Amber Zotto's body was found hidden inside a trash can, concealed under debris. She had been fatally shot in the head.
The investigation quickly zeroed in on Keith Zotto as the primary suspect. He was taken into custody the following day. In the course of the investigation, a much darker narrative emerged, contradicting his initial statements. It was revealed that Keith had confessed to a family member, admitting that he shot Amber in the face.
