In the late afternoon of August 21, 2020, a disturbance in Greeley, Colorado, escalated into a violent encounter that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Deionte Lashay Dior Johnson-Smith. Reports from the Greeley Police Department indicate that at approximately 5:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of 12th Street following a call of shots fired. Upon their arrival, they discovered two men with gunshot wounds.
