In the summer of 2022, a grim discovery was made by hikers in the Phantom Canyon area of Fremont County, Colorado. On July 16th, the bodies of a married couple from Harrisburg, Arkansas, were found, bringing a tragic end to their time in the scenic region. The victims were identified as 29-year-old Morgan Apple and her 31-year-old husband, Shawn Apple.
