In the summer of 2022, a tragic event unfolded in the city of Lamar, Colorado, forever altering the lives of several families. On the afternoon of Saturday, July 23rd, violence erupted within the Lamar Apartments on Mullen Street. Inside one of the residences, a 24-year-old man named Jourden White opened fire, shooting three individuals.
Two of the victims, 50-year-old Roy Bock and 58-year-old Loretta Rhoades, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The third victim, a young woman named Keisha Graff, who was 18 years old, was critically injured. She was immediately transported to a hospital in the Denver metro area for urgent medical care. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, her injuries proved to be too severe. After being on life support for several days, Keisha Graff passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022.
Following the shooting, Jourden White fled the apartment complex. Law enforcement agencies were quickly alerted, and a BOLO was issued for his vehicle. Officers with the Granada Police Department soon spotted White's car, initiating a pursuit that involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Hamilton County Sheriff's office. The chase continued until White stopped his vehicle in a field near the town of Holly.
As officers approached, White exited his vehicle and took his own life with a handgun. No shots were fired by any of the law enforcement officers present. The investigation into the incident revealed that the suspect and the victims were known to each other, although the specific nature of their relationship and the motive behind the shooting remained under investigation.
