In the early morning hours of October 30, 2022, a horrific act of violence shattered the peace of an Aurora, Colorado, home, claiming the life of 22-year-old Hispanic female, Maria Anita Serrano. The tragic event unfolded at a residence on Geneva Street where Maria lived with her family. The perpetrator, Joseph Mario Castorena, the 21-year-old ex-boyfriend of Maria's twin sister, Jessica Serrano, broke into the home and laid in wait for the family to return.
