Acting Chief Isaac Benjamin Martinez, a 33-year-old law enforcement officer, lost his life on April 10, 1994, while serving in San Ildefonso Pueblo, New Mexico. Martinez was part of a 10-man SWAT team tasked with serving a warrant for a firearms violation. The operation turned tragic when the suspect, upon the officers' entry into the home, immediately opened fire.
