On August 26, 2014, 20-year-old Kenneth Perez was fatally shot following a dispute at a gas station near Coors and Blake in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Witnesses reported that Perez was involved in a confrontation at the gas station, which escalated to gunfire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
