On September 13, 2015, a deadly confrontation erupted between rival motorcycle clubs at a gas station along Route 314 in Los Chavez, New Mexico. The altercation involved members of the Bandidos and the Poor Boys motorcycle clubs. During the shootout, Danny Macias, a 40-year-old resident of Belen and a member of the Poor Boys, was fatally shot.
