On June 22, 2017, 24-year-old Phillip Cook from Albuquerque, New Mexico, was reported missing by his parents. They expressed concern that he was not taking his prescribed medication for schizophrenia and might be in possession of a handgun. The following day, authorities discovered Cook's abandoned vehicle off a forest road in the Gila National Forest near Silver City, New Mexico. A search ensued, and on June 24, Cook's body was found in the forest. An autopsy later determined that he died from ...
