On August 20, 2018, 29-year-old Marcos Herrera was fatally shot in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The incident came to light when Herrera arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound; despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. Subsequent investigations led authorities to a residence on Shore Meadows in northern Rio Rancho, identified as the crime scene.
