On Christmas Day, 2019, Roberto Velasquez—a 22-year-old Hispanic/Latino male—was found dead with his parents and younger brother inside the family’s home in Rio Rancho’s Northern Meadows subdivision. Police responding after relatives grew concerned discovered four victims, all dead from gunshot wounds: Roberto; his father, Carlos Velasquez, 50; his mother, Marilyn Velasquez, 45; and his 14-year-old brother, Adrian.
