On January 1, 2020, at approximately 2 a.m., 23-year-old Vicente Christopher Romero-Lopez was fatally shot in the driveway of a townhouse in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Originally from Tucumcari, Romero-Lopez had relocated to the Albuquerque area. His death marked the city's first homicide of 2020.
