On the evening of February 7, 2022, the city of Gallup, New Mexico, was unsettled by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 9:14 p.m., emergency dispatchers received a call reporting that shots had been fired in the 500 block area of Clark Street. The caller also conveyed the grim sight of a man lying on the ground.
