Marquis Mitchell, a 32-year-old resident of Chicago, was killed on August 9, 2015, in a violent incident that occurred in the city's West Side. According to available reports, Mitchell was sitting inside a parked vehicle in the 1500 block of South Kildare Avenue when an individual approached him on a bicycle, seemingly to announce a robbery. During the confrontation, Mitchell was shot, and despite efforts to provide medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries.
