In the late hours of a summer night in Everett, Massachusetts, on August 13, 2015, the life of a young mother was tragically cut short. Ashlee Berryman, a 21-year-old Caucasian female from Malden, was fatally shot in what authorities have described as a senseless act of violence where she was not the intended target.
