On a grim March evening in 2016, the life of 26-year-old Jessica McKeon, a Caucasian female, was tragically cut short. On March 10th, she and her 28-year-old boyfriend, Alex Lora, were discovered with gunshot wounds inside their second-floor apartment on Forbes Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. When police responded to reports of gunfire around 7:41 p.m., they found McKeon already deceased at the scene.
Lora was rushed to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. The couple had two children between them.
The initial investigation suggested that the attack was not a random act of violence, with law enforcement believing the couple was specifically targeted. The homeowner of the triple-decker building where McKeon and Lora lived reported hearing approximately six gunshots coming from their apartment. In the immediate aftermath, police had very limited information regarding a suspect and appealed to the public for any information that could lead to an arrest. A small vigil was held outside the Forbes Street home as the community mourned the loss of the young couple.
Despite the passage of time, the double homicide of Jessica McKeon and Alex Lora remains an open and unsolved case. In the years following the shooting, the Worcester Police Department has continued to seek information from the public to help identify the individual or individuals responsible for their deaths. To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the murders.
