On a summer afternoon in Boston, a senseless act of violence irrevocably altered the lives of a family. On June 14, 2016, Marcus Hill, a 31-year-old Black man, brought his young son to a barbershop in the Mattapan neighborhood for a haircut. In a tragic turn of events, Hill was shot and killed just outside the shop while his son remained safely inside.
