On January 9, 2017, Khisean Desvarieux, a 19-year-old young man and father to a young boy, became Boston's first homicide victim of the year. The incident occurred near a community center in the Orchard Gardens housing development in Roxbury, Boston. According to reports, Desvarieux was shot twice in the stomach at approximately 2 Dearborn St., shortly before 7:30 PM.
