On the evening of April 21, 2017, Yanuel Viloria, an 18-year-old Black / African American male, was with friends inside an apartment building at 180 Ruggles Street in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood. The group had been spending time in a rear hallway of the building, a common gathering spot.
