In the summer of 2019, the life of 32-year-old Christian Green of New Bedford was tragically cut short in a burst of violence in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood. On the evening of June 17th, police responded to the sound of gunfire near Mozart and Bolster Streets. Arriving at the scene, they discovered a grim tableau. Green was one of two men found suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second victim, 34-year-old Jose M.
Martinez of Boston, was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries. In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement officials indicated that the shooting did not appear to be a random act of violence, suggesting the victims may have been targeted. A white sedan was seen being towed from the area in the early hours of the following morning as investigators began their work.
Despite the initial investigation and appeals to the public for information, the case has grown cold. In the years that have passed since the fatal shooting, no arrests have been announced, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the murders of Christian Green and Jose Martinez. The Boston Police Department continues to list the death of Christian Green as an unsolved homicide, leaving a community and two families waiting for answers and for justice to be served.
