On a summer evening in Springfield, Massachusetts, the life of a young Black man, Kahsir Jahsay Thompson, aged 22, was tragically cut short. On July 6, 2019, Springfield Police responded to reports of shots fired at a residence on Euclid Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered Thompson in the backyard, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Baystate Medical Center, but succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
