In the early hours of a summer morning in Springfield, Massachusetts, the life of 28-year-old Hispanic male William Fernandez Martinez was tragically cut short. On July 31, 2019, at approximately 12:09 a.m., the Springfield Police Department received a call that led them to the vicinity of Wilbraham Road and Benton Street. There, they discovered Fernandez Martinez lying unresponsive on the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
