In the late summer of 1930, a tragedy unfolded in the small community of Marcola, Oregon, forever marking August 29th as a day of loss. Oscar Lee Duley, a 35-year-old White male, lost his life in the line of duty. He served as a police officer with the Eugene Police Department.
