In the summer of 2015, on July 28th, the life of 29-year-old Andrae Fenner, a Black / African American male, was cut short in a violent confrontation at the River View Mobile Home Park in Damascus, Oregon. The incident unfolded when Jeremy James Bonsignore, 25, arrived at Fenner's residence on South Highway 224 to confront a mutual acquaintance.
The situation quickly escalated into a heated argument, culminating in an exchange of gunfire between Fenner and Bonsignore. When Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene, they found neighbors attempting to save Fenner's life by performing CPR. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and torso. Investigators later determined that Fenner had been trying to defend the third person present at his home during the altercation.
Bonsignore sustained a single gunshot wound to his leg during the shootout and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Following his release from the hospital, he was arrested and booked into the Clackamas County Jail. Jeremy James Bonsignore was subsequently charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of Andrae Fenner.
