In the early hours of November 7, 2015, a tragedy unfolded in Northeast Portland that cut short the life of 27-year-old Arthur Simon Aihebhoria. A Black / African American male, Aihebhoria was discovered deceased in the street, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound. The incident, which took place in the 1500 block of Northeast 122nd Avenue, prompted an immediate response from law enforcement.
Upon their arrival at approximately 4:30 a.m., officers found Aihebhoria and it was soon
determined by the state medical examiner that he had died from a single gunshot wound to the head. The initial investigation by homicide detectives revealed little about the circumstances leading to his death. The motive for the shooting remained elusive, leaving both the community and Aihebhoria's loved ones grappling for answers. In an effort to generate leads, authorities offered a reward for information that could help solve the case.
Despite the ongoing investigation and the plea for public assistance, there have been no publicly announced arrests or identification of any suspects in the years following Aihebhoria's death. The case remains a painful and unresolved chapter for his family and the Portland community. The lack of closure in the search for justice for Arthur Simon Aihebhoria underscores the devastating and lasting impact of gun violence.
