On September 7, 2016, Manuel Zavala, a 30-year-old resident of Salem, Oregon, lost his life in a tragic incident. The event unfolded when officers responded to a scene where they found two individuals, Christopher Edward Gerberding and Manuel Zavala. Upon arrival, the police discovered that Manuel Zavala was deceased at the scene, while Christopher Edward Gerberding, aged 32, was present and provided statements to the detectives.
