In the quiet, rural community of Ryderwood, Washington, the morning of March 18, 2019, was shattered by a grim discovery. Travis E. Seiber, a 47-year-old White/Caucasian male, was found deceased in his home on State Route 506. First responders arrived at the scene to find that Seiber had suffered a fatal gunshot wound. His death was quickly ruled a homicide, launching an intensive investigation by the Cowlitz County Sheriff's Office that would soon uncover a story of betrayal and a robbery gone
tragically wrong.
Investigators learned that the plot against Seiber was orchestrated by two individuals from Centralia: Anthony Depuisaye-Greene and his girlfriend, Elizabeth Rogan. Rogan had a prior connection to Seiber, having met him through a dating app in 2014. Though they had not been in contact for several years, they had reconnected briefly in January of 2019. This renewed acquaintance would prove fatal for Seiber. According to court documents, Rogan and Depuisaye-Greene planned to rob Seiber at his residence.
On the day of the murder, the pair drove to Seiber's home with the intent to rob him. Rogan allegedly made initial contact, going to the front door and asking to use the bathroom to distract Seiber. As she was inside, Depuisaye-Greene approached the house, but Seiber shut and locked the door before he could enter. Undeterred, Depuisaye-Greene ran to a backdoor. A struggle ensued between him and Seiber, culminating in Depuisaye-Greene fatally shooting Seiber in the face.
The investigation into Seiber's death was aided by information that connected Depuisaye-Greene and Rogan to a string of burglaries in Lewis and Thurston counties. Following their arrest for these burglaries, Rogan admitted her involvement in the plan to rob Seiber. A crucial piece of evidence came from forensic analysis, which confirmed that a firearm recovered from the couple's home was the weapon used in the murder. In December 2020, Anthony Depuisaye-Greene pleaded guilty to first-degree murder and 16 other charges related to the crime spree. Elizabeth Rogan was also scheduled to be sentenced for her role in the homicide.
