On a tragic day in Pocahontas County, West Virginia, the community of Cass was shattered by a violent outburst that claimed three lives. On April 6, 1924, a woman known as Mrs. William Totten, a female aged 45, fell victim to a fatal shooting. The grim events of that day also took the life of her 19-year-old son, Herbert Totten, and another woman, Hallie McCoy.
