In the late summer of 2000, 10-year-old Natasha Alex Carter, a White female, vanished along with her mother, Susan Carter. The two were last seen on August 8, 2000, in Beckley, West Virginia. At the time of their disappearance, Susan was embroiled in a bitter custody dispute with Natasha’s father, Rick Lafferty.
