On a January afternoon in 2014, the lives of two brothers, Carl Hopkins Jr., a 61-year-old White male, and Garrick Hopkins, 60, were tragically cut short in Barboursville, West Virginia. The brothers were on a piece of property recently purchased by Garrick, inspecting a shed, when they were fatally shot. The property was adjacent to land owned by Rodney Bruce Black, 62, who would soon become the sole suspect in their deaths.
