In the rural landscape of McDowell County, West Virginia, the life of a 46-year-old Caucasian male named Clinton Mullins came to a tragic and violent end in October 2014. On a Sunday morning near the community of Panther, a grim discovery was made along Long Pole Creek. A burned-out vehicle held the remains of Mullins and another man, 21-year-old Brandon Church of Iaeger.
