On June 13, 2016, a tragic incident occurred in the Valley High Timber Farms subdivision west of Great Cacapon, West Virginia, resulting in the deaths of three men, including William Bartley. The victims, William Bartley, his son Travis Bartley, and Jack Douglas, were unarmed and had been asked by the family of the late Clarence McBee to check on and maintain the McBee property, which bordered the residence of the suspect, Erick D.
