In the summer of 2018, the community of Grafton, West Virginia, was unsettled by the violent death of one of its own. Perry Herbert Setler, a 54-year-old Caucasian male, was found deceased in his residence on July 3rd of that year. It was soon determined that he had been the victim of gun violence, and his death was officially ruled a homicide. The Taylor County Sheriff's Department immediately launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death, seeking to piece together the
events that led to this tragic outcome. In the initial stages of the investigation, law enforcement officials worked to uncover leads and identify any potential persons of interest, though no suspects were publicly named.

He was a familiar face around Grafton, having been born there and worked for thirty-five years at local grocery stores, including Greens Foodland and Save-A-Lot.
