Kenneth Junior Cottrell, a 58-year-old resident of Boothsville, West Virginia, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, April 8, 2019. Born in Fairmont on September 15, 1960, Kenneth was the son of Berlen Cottrell and his wife Sharon of Carolina, and the late Rose Mary VanKirk Cottrell.
Kenneth had a long and dedicated career, working as a contractor for Lowe's for more than 20 years. His professional life was marked by his hard work and commitment to his role.
Outside of work, Kenneth had a diverse range of hobbies and interests. He was an avid motorcycle rider, enjoyed target shooting, and was skilled in Jujitsu. He also had a deep affection for his dog, Denim, which was a significant part of his life.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Mary VanKirk Cottrell, his wife Kathleen Hassam Cottrell who passed away in February 2016, two sisters named Christine Cottrell and Kathy VanKirk, a brother-in-law named Billy Boggs, and his grandparents Russell and Agnes Cottrell.
Funeral services for Kenneth were held at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home in Fairmont. Family and friends were received on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 10 am to 2 pm, followed by a funeral service at 2 pm officiated by Pastor Bobby Kerns. Interment took place at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
