On a cold December day in 1974, the quiet of a Sioux City, Iowa, neighborhood was shattered by a grim discovery. Inside a home at 1117 Morningside Avenue, the lives of three young people had been violently cut short. Among them was Freta Bostic, a 24-year-old Caucasian woman who was approximately four months pregnant. The tragic event, which likely occurred on December 2, 1974, also claimed the lives of her partner, Billy Isom, and their friend and coworker, Jesse Hanni.
