In the winter of 2004, the life of 33-year-old Michelle Streeter, a female resident of Sioux City, Iowa, was tragically cut short. On February 1st, she was found deceased in her home, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound. The circumstances of her death pointed to a grim and all-too-common scenario of domestic violence.
The investigation identified Vaughn Brewer, the 36-year-old man with whom Michelle lived, as the person responsible for her death.
Evidence indicated that the relationship was marked by violence, a pattern that culminated in the tragic events of that day. It was discovered that Brewer had shot Streeter in the back of the head while she was in bed.
Following the murder of Michelle, Vaughn Brewer did not face arrest or a trial for his violent actions. Instead, he took his own life. He was found deceased, still in his winter coat, having committed suicide after killing Streeter.
