On May 26, 2012, Lisa Marie Caldwell Techel, a 23-year-old newlywed and expectant mother, was found dead in her bed in their rural home in Agency, Iowa. The incident occurred early in the morning when her husband, Seth Techel, made a frantic 911 call claiming to have discovered her body with a gunshot wound to the upper left side of her chest.
