On a tragic spring day, April 29, 2016, the life of Wanda Rose Dowell, a 63-year-old Caucasian woman from Palmetto, Florida, and formerly of Fort Madison, Iowa, was cut short in a violent act that also claimed the life of her daughter. The events unfolded in Danville, Iowa, at the home of her daughter, Tiffany Inghram. It was there that both women were found deceased, victims of a double murder-suicide.
The Des Moines County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of domestic violence at the residence shortly before 5:00 p.m. Upon their arrival, a complainant who was outside the home reported hearing gunshots. Inside, deputies discovered the bodies of Wanda Dowell, her 36-year-old daughter Tiffany, and Tiffany's estranged husband, 60-year-old Robert Inghram. All three had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined that Robert Inghram was the suspect in the killings, taking his own life after murdering his wife and mother-in-law. The couple had been separated, and a no-contact order was in place at the time of the incident. This tragic event concluded a situation of domestic turmoil, leaving a family and community to mourn the sudden and violent loss of two of its members. As the perpetrator died by his own hand, no arrests were made in connection with the deaths of Wanda Dowell and Tiffany Inghram.
