In the summer of 1987, Gerry Lanell Ivie, a 52-year-old White male, served as a Lieutenant with the Duchesne County Sheriff's Department in Utah. On July 2nd of that year, an incident unfolded that would tragically end his life. Law enforcement had established a roadblock in Ioka, a small community in Duchesne County, with the intention of apprehending a suspect.
