Fabien Lavinder, a 15-year-old from Chicago, was shot and killed on May 31, 2016, while sitting inside a car on the city's Far South Side. The incident occurred when someone approached from an alley and fired at the vehicle, striking Fabien in the chest. The driver of the car rushed him to the hospital, but Fabien was pronounced dead shortly before 11 p.m. that evening.
