On a Sunday evening in West Jordan, Utah, a long-simmering feud reached its fatal conclusion, claiming the life of 19-year-old Caesar Enche, also identified as Caesar Manenche. The conflict, described by law enforcement as an ongoing and targeted dispute between documented gang members, had reportedly been escalating through a series of mutual threats.
On that night, the animosity spilled onto Redwood Road. Enche was driving a Chevy Malibu when he was spotted by individuals in a Chrysler 300. A pursuit began around 9000 South, with the two vehicles chasing or racing each other northward.
Near the intersection of 7800 South Redwood Road, the chase culminated in gunfire. Multiple rounds were fired from the Chrysler 300 into Enche's vehicle, striking him. The impact of the gunshot caused Enche to lose control of his car, which then crashed into a third vehicle that was waiting to make a left turn. The chain reaction continued, with Enche's car then hitting a fourth vehicle. Fortunately, the occupants of the other vehicles involved in the crash were not seriously injured. Caesar Enche was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
In the aftermath of the shooting, the West Jordan Police Department launched an investigation that quickly pointed to the targeted nature of the act. The day after the incident, authorities announced the arrest of a 16-year-old male in connection with the homicide. Police described the arrested teen as a documented gang member with a history of violent crime.
