Detective Edward T. Cody, a dedicated member of the Hartford Police Department for nearly 26 years, was tragically killed in the line of duty on April 16, 1979. At the time of his death, he was off-duty, working a part-time job as a security guard for Purolator Corporation. While performing his duties, he was fatally shot during an armored car robbery in Waterbury, Connecticut.
