On a Thursday evening, September 12, 1996, the quiet of a Stamford, Connecticut neighborhood was broken by a grim discovery. Inside a blue Toyota Camry parked on Grenhart Road, 18-year-old Rhonda Johnson, a Black female, and her six-month-old son, Corán, were found lifeless. A woman walking her dog shortly before 8:00 p.m. noticed the car and the tragic scene within, prompting a call to the police. Both mother and child had been shot in the head.
