He was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, where he fought for his life for five days before succumbing to his injuries on March 20, 2014. His death was ruled a homicide, leaving his family, who had immigrated to the United States from Albania for a better life, devastated and searching for answers. Kristjan was remembered as a kind and friendly young man who loved soccer and was a good student with aspirations of going to college to support his family.
